Ang Red & Gold Family Run na gaganapin sa ccp complex ngayong ika-24 ng hulyo taong 2016 kasalukuyan na naglalayong makatulong sa advancement of surgical education ng PGH na dadalohan ng mga grand alumni homecoming students ng CSA makati at ng mga kapamilya natin mula sa Celebrity at Running community at ng PGH Philippine general Hospital  Foundation and advancement surgical operation ng collegio of San Agustin Makati CSA.

kasama din natin dito ang mga CSA Faculty at non-teaching staff at ang kanilang mga pamilya nadin. ito ay open sa pampubliko kahit sino pwede mag registered dito, ang last Fun run event nila ay matagumpay na nilahokan ng libo-libong mananakbo saan mang panig ng luzon nong nakaraang taon.

Sa nasabing  Fun Run event ninais ng mga naturang organizer na mapalawak ang ganitong uri ng edukasyon ng CSA na nais makakatulong sa mga kababayan natin saan mang panig ng bansa na nagsasanay ng pagiging isang ganap na surgeon sa PGH para maitaguyod nila ang  kanilang advocacy. “We can help while we run” magandang layunin ito para sa ating kalusugan.

Biliary Atresia

What is biliary atresia?

Biliary atresia is a relatively rare disease that begins in early infancy and affects about one in every 10,000 to 20,000 infants. In biliary atresia the bile duct that leads from the liver to the intestine becomes damaged preventing bile from leaving the liver. In the early stages the bile duct outside the liver is mainly affected, but in later stages bile ducts inside the liver are also damaged.  This can lead to build up of bile in the liver which can be harmful to the liver. Unless bile flow can be established, liver function is gradually lost and affected children rarely survive beyond two years of age.

*A participants may retire from the race immediately,if required to do so by any number of the official medical staff,RACE DIRECTOR and/or Security officer.

*The event takes place rain or shine.the race committee reserves the right to cancel the event due to adverse weather conditions which may deem the course unsafe.in the event of cancellation there will be no refund of entry.

*change of category registration is not allowed.

*All complaints/protest related to the conduct and result of the races must be made in writing and submitted to the race director within 30 minutes after the official announcement of winners.the organizers decision is final and non- appealable.

1st WAGAYWAY 55K ULTRAMARATHON

Wagayway Festival is celebrated every 28th of May in Imus, Cavite to commemorate the Battle of Alapan where many Filipinos following the lead of General Emilio Aguinaldo risked their lives against the conquering Spaniards. Tagged as “wagayway” (wave), the historical Imus is the place when the Philippine Flag was first waved to signify a won battle.

The said festival is a reminder of the fact that Imus was where the first wave of flag happened. And through this festival, people are reminded of the pride that Imus holds as a significant part of history.

Then Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi (which is also the current mayor after regaining its position) gave much attention to the fading Imuseno pride and with the hope to regain the former town’s spirit, he initiated the very first Wagayway Festival in 2008. During the event which was filled with many celebrations and awareness campaign of the history of the Battle of Alapan and why Imus should be considered the “Real Flag Capital of the Philippines” (which later on awarded to the city), the most memorable of the celebration was when a re-enactment of the Battle of Alapan was staged for the public. Many spectators during the event were captivated by the dramatic historical milestone and thus ignited the hearts of many Imusenos to regain their pride.

The following years soon followed, but it was only in 2012 that the national government under the Proclamation No. 373 Series of 2012 declared May 28 of the year as the National Flag Day, a special non-working holiday for the city of Imus.

Aside from the Wagayway Festival which is filled with many exciting activities, when visiting Imus, it would also be a great time to drop by the famous Battle of Alapan Marker. The said marker is a 90-feet high flag pole that holds the Philippine Flag. The concrete that grips the pole also holds a statue of a lady on top of three rocks painted with starts.

General Information & Race Rules:
* A runner must be 18 years old and have completed one or more 42K distance in order to qualify the race.
* Registration Fee is non-refundable.
* There will be baggage counter at the City of Imus Plaza. Runners are advised to leave vauables at home. The Race Organizers will not be responsible for any loss or damage items.
* Runners must sign waiver before they can get the race bib. Participants must pin the race bib visibly on the shirt at all times during the race.
* Hydration stations will be provided every 10km. Runners are required to bring your own bottles. No cups will be provided to minimize waste.
* Night running gears such as headlamp, flashlight, blinkers and reflective vests are MANDATORY for safety purposes.
* Runners MUST pass through all the checkpoints of race organizer.
* The event takes place rain or shine.
* The organizer reserves the right to change Rules and Regulations at any time without need of prior notice to the participants.
